Parks & Recreation

Neighborhood Parks

As mentioned before, there are 9 neighborhood parks in the community. While each park is unique, most will offer sports fields, a playground and Ramadas & grills for a picnic in the park.

Catalina State Park

Catalina State Park is right across the street from Rancho Vistoso and it offers miles of Hiking Trails that ascend into the Catalina Mountains.

Biking

Rancho Vistoso is bike friendly with many bike lanes and bike trails throughout the community.

You have easy access to the famed “Loop Trail” which is a 136 mile long network of interconnecting walking and biking trails that loop all the way around Tucson. It is one of my favorite things to do because you can bike to your hearts content without ever having to ride on a road. Plus, there are bathrooms and water stations along the route if you need to stop and take a rest.

Into mountain biking? The Rail X Ranch Loop is one of Tucson's highest rated mountain bike trails with miles of rolling singletrack through beautiful desert and rocky foothills of the Tortolita Mountains. Many miles of single and doubletrack trails offshoot from this loop.

The Preserve (Vistoso Golf Course)

The Vistoso Golf Club went defunct over 2 years ago and the Town of Oro Valley recently announced that they are moving forward with negotiations to purchase the 202 acres to protect it as open space with hiking trails, trail heads and parking areas. Stay tuned for updates on the future reserve area.

Shopping

Oro Valley Marketplace has all the day-today shopping you need with a Walmart, Best Buy, a Movie Theater, tons of shops & Restaurants.

The Safeway Plaza provides an easy place to pick up your groceries, run errands and dine out.

Health Care

Oro Valley Hospital and an Urgent Care Facility are located in Rancho Vistoso just in case.

Innovation Park

Innovation Park is Tucson's premier business park. Its 535 acre campus is home to the Oro Valley hospital, Roche (Lifesciences), Securaplane (Aerospace) and the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (bioscience start-ups).
